Example complaints

Transmission and drivetrain: “When driving the vehicle under normal load and conditions, after coming to a complete stop- then trying to accelerate to take a turn or move forward- the vehicle begins to proceed then suddenly stops moving or accelerating. Twice now I have almost been T Boned. Once when leaving my neighborhood and trying to proceed onto the main 45mph country road, most recently tried to turn left from a turning lane across 2 oncoming lanes of traffic. The car just sat there blocking the road for about 5 seconds despite having the gas pedal pressed. …”

NHTSA complaint #11748119, filed 2026-07

Other or unknown: “Upon assessment of substantial amounts of wind noise emanating from driver’s door (while driving at 45mph or higher), I noticed that air is entering the cabin through the door (you can feel it coming out the inside door handle). The dealership has been unable to determine the cause of the Air Noise, but I now have a concern that noxious gases from adjacent vehicles while sitting in heavy traffic could seep into the cabin in the same manner. I did notice that the door seal is not connected to the vehicle for several inches (see pic). …”

NHTSA complaint #11580729, filed 2024-04

Engine: “I have experienced several instances while driving of Hesitation/Non-Linear Acceleration from a stop. When light turns green, on occasion when I accelerate, the vehicle hesitates then lurches forward into traffic. Have also experienced this issue when waiting to make a turn - car hesitates then lurches forward. I have almost had an accident due to this issue. According to Toyota Crown internet forum, this is a common issue with the 2023 Crown Platinum and Toyota is not being helpful in dealing with this safety issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11606382, filed 2024-08

Body and structure: “I have the same issue as the one below that has already been listed on this site. We need a toyota engineer to figure this out the dealerships have no clue how to fix. upon assessment of substantial amounts of wind noise emanating from driver’s door (while driving at 45mph or higher), I noticed that air is entering the cabin through the door (you can feel it coming out the inside door handle). …”
