“Electric oil pump for transmission failed at 16,000 miles -no immediate safety risk to my knowledge -the problem was reported by me and acknowledged by Toyota dealership (San Rafael) and replaced under factory warranty -I do not know if failed part was inspected by Toyota, police or insurance - was not to my knowledge -No warning prior to failure”
NHTSA complaint #11751829, filed 2026-07“My car was parked outside my house on 2/18/25 while I slept between work shifts. There had been no prior impact or damage to any of the glass, the vehicle has never been in an accident, and the glass is what was installed by the manufacturer. I am the only owner, it was purchased with only 4 miles on it. All windows/glass were intact when I left the car parked and entered my home. Approximately 10 hours later, I went to drive my car to work and the glass on the rear door on the driver's side was found completely shattered. …”
NHTSA complaint #11644052, filed 2025-02“While driving on highway in New Jersey we heard something that sounded like a gunshot. We pulled back the sun shade for the sunroof and discovered sun roof had exploded.”
NHTSA complaint #11668378, filed 2025-06“I purchased a Maxi-Cosi Peri 180 infant car seat and discovered what I believe may be a defect in the carrier-to-base locking mechanism. When the infant carrier is installed in the base and appears to be fully latched, the rear of the carrier can lift out of its locking slot with gentle upward pressure without using the release handle. The front of the carrier remains attached, but the rear partially disengages from the base. The child’s safety may be put at risk because the carrier does not appear to remain fully secured to the base during normal handling. …”
NHTSA complaint #11754959, filed 2026-08“AC does not work in cold weather. Only blows 140 degrees when set to 60 or higher but blows 40 degrees on low. No in between. Took to dealer and they replicated the issue and agreed it needs to be fixed asap but can’t find anything wrong. They had a corporate master technician look at it a week later when the weather warmed up and he could not replicate the issue so nothing was done. It is now cold again and it only blows extremely hot on anything except low. Many other owners complaining about this issue online. …”
