“I'm pretty sure the airbag malfunction warning light of my 2006 RAV4 is not a matter of wear an tear. There are several complaints on 2006-2008 ravs4 with identical problem. You don't want to hear this, but is hardly difficult to find a way to get in contact with Toyota motors, it seemed that they do not want to hear from the Toyota owner?s problems. …”

NHTSA complaint #10507328, filed 2013-04, 72,000 miles

“Takata recall , I had an accident in which my vehicle front end collided with a tree. My air bag did not deploy, and upper seat belt did not lock causing injury to my face. I was on a city street in motion. I was taken to hospital via ambulance.”

NHTSA complaint #11048239, filed 2017-11, 165,000 miles

“An airbag warning light has come on. Took to Toyota dealership and to fix, we need to replace a clock spring, if not the airbag will not deploy. This is a safety issue and should be a recall as I have researched and found numerous complaints about this issue.”

“On 7/2 afternoon around 4:20, after picking up parcel from post office downtown high point, nc with wife, while driving back home , speed about 25 MPH, my sided airbag deployed, no crash or accident, no warning light was on beforehand, pulled to vann yoke Toyota at high point and they said they will open up a case to investigate for such rare incident and since Toyota factory tech off for the holiday, not until coming monday they will look at this. I still having tingling feeling at left side of my body.”

NHTSA complaint #10731858, filed 2015-07, 96,000 miles

“While driving the vehicle the air bag light came on. After checking the owners manual we made an appointment with the local dealer. They explained the problem was in the clock in the air bag mechanism and needed replaced or the air bag would not deploy in a crash. The vehicle has been garage kept and well maintained. I think a Toyota recall should be in order since this is a safety issue and involves many Toyota rav-4 vehicles. The Toyota dealership wants 600 dollars to fix the problem. …”
