“Brakes ABS not working. Can't find out why. Sometimes I have brakes, sometimes I don't. Lighrs come on and off. Looked up recalls descriptions show tge same recalled issues but my car has zero recalls. Driving in traffic ,brake pedal goes to the floor. No brakes. I got out of traffic and parked car in driveway. Pebdemic came. Now I need to find a way to fix it.”

“Rear passenger power sliding door. Problem started with only being able to open from the outside. Now we cannot open from the inside or outside with power or manual mode. We have children and feel this is a severe safety issue. From what I've been researching there was an extended warranty for this but ours is out of this range. Apparently this is a problem with a number of Toyota minivans. Apparently there's a cable issue involved. We don't feel safe with our children in the car”

NHTSA complaint #11231656, filed 2019-07, 158,000 miles

“Automatic rear doors will not lock or unlock or open or shut with remote. Are extremely difficult to open manually. I was told they could be repaired at a cost of over $1200 per door. I also had a problem with the rear automatic hatch which was repaired under warranty. I see a pattern here.”

NHTSA complaint #10349802, filed 2010-08, 80,000 miles

“1) battery drains dead only less than 30 minutes of power on (either side door left open, headlight not turned off completely, interior light on, etc.) which never happened with previous toyotas I owned. In three years I own this model, I had to jump charge my battery at least 10 times in different occasions due to above. 2) automatic headlight feature does not turn off the headlight when engine is turned off, draining battery. …”

“My mini van Toyota Sienna sliding door on passenger side cannot open from the inside, after open from the out side and checked child lock is in unlock position, remote control and button inside is not working at all. I took my van to southbay Toyota to inspect they charged $192.00 but not fix the problem, I believed Toyota was recall to repair this problem, but until now my car has not been fix yet, dealer said the charge can be over $500.00. I had no money to pay for it, I 'd like to report this is safety issue. Please help.”
