“The contact owns a 2000 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that the front driver's seat belt was unraveling itself. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection and they stated that the contact must have spilled something on the seat belt. The manufacturer was notified and offered no asssitance. The manufacturer also stated that the warranty was expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 206,000.”
NHTSA complaint #10467685, filed 2012-07, 206,000 miles“Consumer was involved in a front end collision at 35 MPH and seat belt did not work properly after slamming on the brakes, consumer was still able to be thrown forward, and hit his shoulders and chest. Contacted dealer, and dealer was going to take a look at the vehicle. Consumer also stated that the air bags failed to deploy.”
