2000: “I owned a 2000 tundra with a rusted frame. I took it to a Toyota body shop and I was told it was dangerous and not repairable. I proceeded to another dealer, traded it in on a 2008 tundra because of the advice from the Toyota body shop. In addition, I have retained all of my records from the date of purchase.”

1994: “I took my 1994 Toyota pickup to a shop to have the clutch replaced. The shop called me and said they would not install the clutch because the frame was rusted through so bad around the rear suspension mounts that it was practically broken in half and was not safe to drive.”

NHTSA complaint #10359453, filed 2010-10, 165,058 miles

2003: “After I bought my 4runner I noticed lose of power when entering busy streets or roadways. I would go into an intersection or road and my SUV would brake and I could not speed up , I had no throttle control for 3 or 4 seconds that is along time when you have traffic behind you. I am glad I have not cause an accident but the problem still exits. I took it to dealer but tells me it is normal. It's more like scary than normal..”
