“My vehicle has been in the dealer (liberty Toyota) for the past three months for ecu passenger airbag issues. To date, Toyota corporate engineers have not been able to fix the issue. My service manager told me that this issue has happened in two other states in the country. I elevated the problem today to Toyota corporation and they have assigned a case number to it.”

NHTSA complaint #10944680, filed 2017-01, 150,000 miles

“I received a safety recall notice for airbags from Toyota who strongly recommends that you have this safety recall remedy performed immediately. If you do not follow the instructions in this letter, you should not drive your vehicle. When calling for an appointment on july 28, 2015 at Toyota of fort worth, 9001 camp bowie w blvd, fort worth, tx I was told that they wouldn't have replacement parts until september 23, 2015. I'm unable to park the vehicle for 2 months, it is my only transportation. …”

NHTSA complaint #10744518, filed 2015-07, 55,000 miles

“Takata recall. The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Tundra. The contact received NHTSA campaign number: 19v741000 (air bags) and inquired of manufacturer and dealer resposnibility in regards to the recall remedy. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under an unknown air bag recall at an unknown dealer however, he was not satisfied with the repairs as the dealer left adhesive glue visible on the dashboard and paneling that was removed to replace the passenger side air bag. …”

NHTSA complaint #11307771, filed 2020-02, 18,000 miles

“Received a safety recall notice from Toyota some time back in regards to the passenger air bag. Notice does not indicate when the remedy can be performed, but does recommend not allowing anyone to ride in the font passenger seat. This is beyond words. How is this possible, put some pressure on the manufacturer. It is their problem, make them fix it now. Telling someone not to use a passenger seat in a pickup is asinine. Recall is pathetic.”

NHTSA complaint #10765337, filed 2015-09, 150,000 miles

“Toyota is being dishonest and scamming consumers on the safety recall for the front passenger airbag inflator module. I received a recall letter on july 22 and called local Toyota dealer the same day. They set up an appointment on july 28 to take care of the recall. The letter from Toyota is written to cover their negligence and liability by stating to not use the passenger seat. This basically takes the vehicle out of use for many things a truck provides outside of a single driver. …”
