“Drove my truck about 200 miles that day. Pulled into my driveway and unloaded a formica counter top in my garage then pulled my truck to it's normal parking spot. Walked back to the garage and saw a rather large grease spot. Looked at the rear of my truck and the rear end housing was leaking around the pumpkin area. Took it to my mechanic and he told me my whole rear end housing was rusted out and had to be replaced. …”

NHTSA complaint #11073993, filed 2018-02, 144,000 miles

“Toyota recalled for frame rust. Vehicle taken apart and frame replaced. Vibration present between 30 and 70mph. Vibration gets extreme when not under load (ie slowing down). Has been back at dealer 6 times to try to identify/repair. No resolution. Toyota customer experience department recommended I take recourse. Contacted state attorney general who is trying to mediate a resolution. Ag office recommended I file a complaint with NHTSA as well.”

NHTSA complaint #10565973, filed 2014-02, 70,708 miles

“'2006 Tundra dbl cab limited 2x4' the gears in the rear differential broke back in july 2012 at 55000 miles, Toyota dealer repaired it just as my warranty was about to expire then it just happened again on 10-9-14 at 71000 miles, exactly 8 years of the date when I bought it brand new in 10-9-06. Only 16000 miles on the new gears. Either the Toyota dealer didn't repair it right or the tundras have crappy differentials. Ill never purchase a Toyota again, plus they're over priced.”

NHTSA complaint #10645001, filed 2014-10, 55,000 miles

“Tamara recall - I was exiting the freeway, making a left hand turn onto the city street, I was traveling approximately 25 miles per hour. As I entered the intersection, on a green light, a 1996 gmc yukon ran a red light, travelling approximately 40 miles an hour and hit me on my front end, damaging the bumper, fender, door, hood and bed on the drivers side. I was wearing my seatbelt but the impact was hard enough to propell me upwards, causing my left shoulder to hit the frame above the window which caused a grade 3 separation of my left collarbone.”

NHTSA complaint #11057017, filed 2017-12, 108,000 miles

“This filing is in reference to my 2006 Toyota Tundra sr5 v8 4.7 ltr 10,000 miles. For the past few weeks of driving the above referenced vehicle I started to notice a knocking metal sound under the center console when accelerating and braking... I took no immediate action as I found it to be a very light sound. …”
