Example complaints
Other or unknown: “Parked at work as usual on 8/17/2026 in the morning and in the afternoon when i was ready to go home, i noticed the windshield was chipped closed to the bottom. The chip itself is quite tiny and doesn’t look like it was hit by an object. The crack link goes upwards and turns towards the passenger side. The weather has been very hot in the past several weeks.”
NHTSA complaint #11758490, filed 2026-08Electrical system: “I don’t have the specific date that this happened because it was several times. When I first got the car the Toyota app stopped working after a few days. I brought it back a couple times and they replaced the headpiece because the app system crashed. Then the CarPlay stopped working not long after the head piece was replaced and the app stopped working. After going to the dealership for eight or nine times they finally ordered me a DCM. While waiting for that part, the auto start via key fog was not heating up the car. …”
NHTSA complaint #11633987, filed 2025-01Brakes: “After applying the brakes in a sudden situation, the automatic emergency braking came on but the car didn't stop. The brake pedal was pushed all the way to the floor board but the car didn't stop and crashed into the vehicle in front. This happened once before but didn't end in a crash. This was a total brake failure.”
NHTSA complaint #11690439, filed 2025-09Forward collision avoidance: “After coming to a stop at a STOP sign, the vehicle accelerated unintentionally, crossing the highway and hitting a parked car, causing injuries and totaling my vehicle. While my vehicle sustained a crumbled chassis, no airbags were deployed, causing injuries to the driver and passenger. Additionally, the emergency automatic brakes did not stop the car from ploughing into the parked car. The car was examined by the insurance carrier (AAA) and Toyota (the manufacturer), who sent out a technician to read the CDR data. The report was generated by BOSCH (a 3rd party hired by Toyota). …”
