“It was around 10:30am and I was on my way to work. Driving on a local road and the brake light, ABS and stability lights came on. I pulled over and turned off the car. Pressed on the parking brake released it and then re-started the car and all the warning lights went off. About 5 miles later the lights came on again and now they light up as soon as the car is started.”

NHTSA complaint #10588239, filed 2014-05, 51,000 miles

“On october 20, 2012, my wife came home from work and stated that the brakes were not working properly (I.e. Brake pedal dropped almost to the floor at times and brakes did not engage properly) on our 2010 Toyota Venza and that a message was illuminated in the center console computer system that stated, brake system failure. Contact your dealership immediately! . I contacted the dealership, informed them that the brakes were not working correctly and of the illuminated message, and was instructed to bring the vehicle into the dealership. …”

NHTSA complaint #10488668, filed 2012-12, 32,902 miles

“This problem which I have noticed in my new 2010 Toyota Venza is similar to the problem being reported in the 2010 prius with the anti-lock brake system. What I have observed is frequent jerks which can be termed as inconsistent brake feel during slow and steady application of brakes on slick road. This happened on the day when it snowed here in columbus ohio this january. I do not recall the exact date but there result of the action of applying brake did not immediately stop the car and resulted in a drag. …”

NHTSA complaint #10305796, filed 2010-02, 521 miles

“I was driving 35 MPH (the speed limit) and was approximately 6-8 car lengths from two cars stopped at a green light waiting for oncoming traffic to clear so they could turn left. I took my foot off the accelerator and onto the brakes but they didn't engage. I then slammed on the brakes. I heard the pulsation as if the ABS brakes were trying to work but they did not engage. I then checked to see if the lane to my right was clear. When I saw that it was, I tried to steer into it but my car would not steer and I crashed into the second stopped car and it in turn hit the car in front of it. …”

NHTSA complaint #10627641, filed 2014-08, 64,000 miles

“Since I bought the Venza, the brake has not been working well, so I am trembling with fear and the risk of an accident countless times. I didn't know how to claim this, so I endured it and drove this car until now. Today, after reading an article about Fisker's break issue investigation. I decided to report it to NHTSA. Please investigate this and resolve this issue.”
