“I keep the light switch turned to auto. At random times I will get this warning on the center display to turn on the lights. I look down and find that the switch has turned to the left to off. I have no idea how this happens. It is not in a place where I can bump it or touch it. I do not feel safe knowing that I think that I have lights on and they are, in fact, off.”
NHTSA complaint #11508424, filed 2023-02“Rear Brake and Rotors- At about 14,500 miles the vehicle started making this screeching noise. Rear brake pads and rotors wearing out prematurely. There is no indication through the health reports sent by VW or Carfax (VW affiliated) that is nothing wrong (all healthy). I took to dealership. The customer service rep at Rudolph VW in El Paso, TX told me that the front brakes were great and the rear brakes were at about 6/10 and to come back in a few months before the 20,000 miles warranty ran out. That VW was aware about the supplier but could not do anything at this point . …”
NHTSA complaint #11558297, filed 2023-12“Digital Dash goes dark at times, so dark you cant see the speed or any of the gages. You have to pull over shut the car off and wait approx. 40 seconds and then restart, it may or may not do it again.I have read on the vw forum that a lot of Taos owners are having this problem. No help from VW”
