Example complaints

Engine: “Rough idle, stalls at stops, shaking. Every time vehicle is taken into Bmw of ontario for one problem it comes back with a different issue, I believe Bmw of ontario is purposely damaging items on my vehicle that isn't covered under warranty so I'll pay them out of pocket.”

NHTSA complaint #11173199, filed 2019-01, 85,000 miles

Transmission and drivetrain: “When entering the on ramp to merge onto the highway. I accelerated to merge into traffic and car vibrated violently and would not accelerate. I continued to press the accelerator but nothing happened and a message appeared on the display. Now, I'm stuck between the on ramp and the highway with a tractor trailer rapidly approaching. He barely has enough space to merge to his left and avoids rear ending me.this could have been catastrophic. I continued to press the accelerator and nothing happened. I put my hazards on and quickly read the message. It read, maximum engine output not available. …”

NHTSA complaint #10863691, filed 2016-05, 36,970 miles

Electrical system: “After a round trip 25 miles drive and placing the car in park with the engine off, the passenger door would not open from inside or outside of the car. The issue appears to be an electrical, because the central locking system would lock the car, but would not unlock. The driver door does open from the inside but the passenger door does not. This could be catastrophic in case of fire or accident.”
