2017: “While driving on city street, when accelerator hits the floor, the pedal will stick, continually accelerating. There is no way to unstick this as the vehicle continues to increase speed. I was able to use the brakes, even though the pedal was to the floor; I stepped on the pedal thinking it may release it and eventually it did. This has happened twice in the last week. Very scary.”
NHTSA complaint #11397965, filed 2021-02, 57,000 miles2019: “My vehicle was struck at approx 35 MPH on the driver's side. The striking vehicle did not apply the brakes so the full force of the vehicle hit. The side airbags did not deploy, leaving me with a concussion as my head struck the driver's door window. The vehicle was in motion making a left turn on a green light on a city street. The striking vehicle ran the opposing light, causing the accident.”
NHTSA complaint #11402680, filed 2021-03, 12,000 miles2018: “I was idling in line for about 5 minutes waiting for food at mcdonalds. Transmission was in drive. Once served, I started to drive away but car shuttered and stopped abruptly. Apparently transmission will automatically shift to park after idling for several minutes even if it has started to move forward 1 or 2 MPH. What would have happened if I was traveling faster when it shifted to park? Is this feature a governmental requirement? Why?”
