“Randomly I receive the message service traction control - engine power reduced - there is no rhyme or reason. It happens on nice days, rainy days, whether or not I am going uphill, downhill or on flat surfaces. On at least one occasion while driving on the highway, the engine shut off and I had to coast from lane 2 to the shoulder. After 20 minutes, it restarted.”

NHTSA complaint #11325516, filed 2020-05, 150,000 miles

“While driving my car my car stalled as if it was in neutral. I stopped and tried to put the car in park, but nothing happened. I tried reverse and the car wouldn't move. It crakes up but there are no shifting of gears. I had to replace my gas tank as well as my pedals for this car. Please help.”

“Out of no where while driving the display says engine power reduced and then switches to service traction control . I have limited power, the check engine light comes on and so does the traction control light. I can drive the car to where I am going, but no acceleration.”

NHTSA complaint #10661986, filed 2014-12, 110,000 miles

“I have read many other complaints similar to mine . I was driving yesterday and the service stabilitrak, service traction control warnings came on. After a few minutes engine power reduced warning came on and the car would not run over 50 MPH. This is on a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. I was driving 45 MPH and when the lights come on ,they just as quickly turn off and on again. The car shook and the throttle was a bit off. …”
