“My boyfriend(mario diego) and I (carmenia) purchased a 1998 chevy tahoe. From brooks motor company on april 1,2005. From april 1 to june 29,2005. The tahoe had to be returned to brooks motor service center 8 to 9 different times for repairs. Now my car rear end has broke and not drivable.”
NHTSA complaint #10131642, filed 2005-08, 5 miles“Dt: on the driver's side the front tire, rim, brakes, and hub fell off the car. The police said they had seen other vehicles where the same thing happened.”
NHTSA complaint #10120446, filed 2005-05, 129,000 miles“The sensor that controls power steering effort has failed twice on this vehicle. It is an intermittent condition where the effort required to steer the vehicle varies greatly for no apparent reason. The most dangerous condition would occur while driving at high speed. The steering effort would suddenly change from normal to very light. When this occured while negotiating a curve at high speed, it would jerk you off the road.”
NHTSA complaint #735832, filed 2000-11“When driving vehicle at various speeds, vehicle would shake. Driving at 60mph or above vehicle shakes/vibrates uncontrollably. Driver still had control. Took to dealership & informed it's a manufacturer's defect. Was advised to put sand bags in rear of vehicle to prevent uncontrollable shaking.”
NHTSA complaint #825430, filed 1998-07“Vehicle vibrates intermittently while driving, vibration is more severe under braking conditions but noticeable when just cruising, this vibration causes the rear end to bounce thus resulting in the ABS to activate and extended stopping distance.”
