NHTSA complaint #11405973, filed 2021-04, 56,000 miles“At less than 2,000 miles, the frame and rear axle is rusting through the protective wax coating. Where my dealer placed jack points when jacking up the vehicle during pre-sale inspection, there are distinct rust marks in the shape of the jack point. The axle has rust spots increasing in size every week. The frame has rust spots increasing in size and apparent severity every week. The wax coating is often found in flakes under my truck in my garage in the morning. …”
NHTSA complaint #10597956, filed 2014-06, 1,893 miles“On 7.3.2019, I was backing into a parking space when a loud noise occurred. I got out and my truck was sitting on the ground as my front driver side tire was broke off and resting on the ground. I had the vehicle towed to the nearest chevy dealer and was told the control arm had failed causing my tire to break off. August 8th, this happened again but on the passenger side. Thankfully this happened at my home when pulling into the driveway. I am not sure how this has not been recalled seeing as this is obviously faulty control arms on both sides of the truck. …”
NHTSA complaint #11245733, filed 2019-08, 116,000 miles“Dealer states that parts for two critical recalls on our 2014 Chevrolet silverado will takes months to receive before an appointment can be made repair. Our vehicle was purchased specifically for towing our travel trailer. The two recalls involve rear braking system and two hitch weld breakage causing the trailer to break away from the vehicle. What is the resolution to have dealers provided in a timely manner the parts necessary to complete repairs. We cannot use our vehicle for months now due to these issues?”
NHTSA complaint #10860090, filed 2016-04, 2,206 miles“Vehicle vibrates at highway speeds, to the point that it does not feel safe. It is especially strong at approximately 74 MPH. I have taken it to my Chevrolet dealer four times and the problem is not resolved. The dealer replaced all four tires, match balanced the tires three times, and turned the brake rotors. The service manager informed me that the vibration is due to the new suspension design. I found a GM bulletin, #pi1354c, that outlines a specific procedure to diagnose the issue. However, the dealer did not follow it.”
