“As I was driving home from downtown suddenly my truck lost power and I had to limp home ,friend checked truck and found trouble code p2135 reduced engine power and also said for me to check if there was a recall for this throttle body problem .”

NHTSA complaint #11340045, filed 2020-07, 275,000 miles

“My 16 year old son was driving the vehicle when it went into reduced engine power mode and would not accelerate beyond idle speed. It took several restarts before it cleared and would run correctly. About the time I made it home it went back into this mode again. This is a very dangerous problem as it occurs without warning at any speed.”

NHTSA complaint #10437219, filed 2011-11, 119,000 miles

“I was driving at normal speeds when all of a sudden I lost power to the tranny, I took the truck to a diagnostic center and found nothing wrong with the motor, my engine light went on as well but I cant accelerate more than 35 miles an hour it accelerates slowly gaining speed.”

NHTSA complaint #10608158, filed 2014-07, 171,000 miles

“I own a 2003 Chevrolet silverado and as I am driving down the road the check engine light comes on as says reduced engine power and I am only able to travel between 20 to 30 MPH and also as I come to a stop light/sign the truck wants to sputter out and die. Everytime I take it to a mechanic shop they tell me its the throttle body and that it needs to be changed but I have already changed it 4 times in the last two years and is not the problem. The problem is constantly happening sometime 3 to 4 times a day.”

NHTSA complaint #10563697, filed 2014-02, 150,230 miles

“The speedometer stopped working,as well as the RPM indicator at approx. 26,000 miles driven on the pickup.. I have learned there was an extended warranty on this defect rather than a recall. I never received the letter advising me of this from GM, although I owned the pickup since 2006. I stopped driving the pickup because it was not safe to be unable to ascertain how fast I was I driving. I learned about this defect when I called a dealership to discuss the repair last month, as my vehicle was not usable. I then called GM and they said the extended warranty had expired. …”
