“My vehicle lost reverse. It can not reverse what so ever. I was in traffic when it happened thankfully someone where there willing to help. I was told I needed a valve body, after spending 3k plus I was then told the transmission has to be replaced. And its a common thing with these vehicle losing your ability to reverse while driving is very very dangerous.”

NHTSA complaint #11718916, filed 2026-02

“While turning left, the transmission stuttered and got stuck in first gear. I did some basic research and learned that this is a known issue with 2020-2022 Chevrolet Silverado vehicles. I attempted the suggested fix which worked briefly. I then took the vehicle to my local Chevrolet dealer for repairs. After further research I learned that this is a known issue with my year and model of Silverado. GM further voluntarily offered a 15 year, 150,000 mile warranty for this issue. According to GM, my particular VIN is not included in this recall. …”

“Vehicle Message Reduced Acceleration Drive with Care . My car then ran like it was in 1st gear for my drive home. Next morning couldn't go into reverse so I had to have my buddy help me tow it. Went to the dealer and they said that it's an ongoing issue with GM that they haven't addressed with several vehicles and the part (Valve Body) is on backorder with no ETA. With this horrible safety issue you would think GM would just take the hit and change out the entire transmission instead of making people wait so long without their vehicles.”

NHTSA complaint #11647030, filed 2025-03

“Here are the details to incorporate into your GM complaint: Original symptoms: The truck vibrated and jerked during acceleration and at highway speeds. Dealership's diagnosis: The torque converter was slipping at 82 RPM, which the invoice states was outside GM specifications of 20 RPM or below. The technician also noted that the transmission fluid condition was poor. …”
