“The trailer brake controller goes off and on. A message in the truck reads trailer brakes off, trailer brakes on, check wiring. Repeats every 45 seconds or so. You never know when you have trailer brakes or not. Did not have trouble prior 3 years with a different truck? I saw 2022 trucks had a safety recall but my Vin was not included, which it should have. Very dangerous.”
NHTSA complaint #11684573, filed 2025-09“I had several issues prior to this incident where certain sensors and features were not operating. The incident occurred while I was driving on the highway, I randomly lost my braking ability and my dash lit of saying my brakes had failed. I then tried to push on the brakes and even push the e brake button and got no response. Fortunately, there was no traffic as I was going 75 mph and could’ve been killed. I had to coast to a stop.”
NHTSA complaint #11500383, filed 2023-01“On 11/10/2022 I was driving in moderate to heavy traffic at low speed; approximately twenty (20) mph. I applied the brakes and immediately experienced a hard pedal coupled with some pulsating. I pressed the pedal as hard as I could as there was traffic stopped in front of me. At the same time every warning light illuminated on the dashboard. My truck stopped just short of colliding with the other vehicle in front of me. …”
NHTSA complaint #11493222, filed 2022-11“I was at a stop light. Let my foot off brake vehicle revved up and I launched into a vehicle in front of me. Check engine light was on before. Blinking, esc fault , forward collision detection was not working, traction control service light. Throttle body control issue detected code P0205. Valve timing issues detected codes p0353 p0355 p129f p0300. The wire above my shock bolt is completely cut into. GM did an investigation and said no issues were detected at all. There is a TSB for the wire chafing”
NHTSA complaint #11771000, filed 2026-10“When my windshield wipers and headlights have been on for an extended period of time, they tend to cut out. My lights will flicker one time and my windshield wipers freeze for a brief second. Also my vehicle has around 36,000mi and recently a “monitor brake pads” has popped up. I have looked at my brakes and they have plenty of life left. I am not sure what to do. My truck should not be “glitching” and having electrical problems, especially with the amount of money it costs.”
