“The trailer brake system light keeps coming on and I have never hooked up to a trailer that has brakes. This lights comes on sporadically. Concerned as I have heard that Chevrolet uses too light of wire in their light trucks. The truck is in motion when this happens. It comes on in all driving conditions (city, freeway, highways, gravel roads...).”

NHTSA complaint #11326822, filed 2020-06, 4 miles

“I was going through a drive through restaurant, stopping and starting with cars in front of me. When I tried to stop the brake pedal became very hard to push and vehicle didn't want to stop. I shut off the vehicle and restarted. The brakes reverted back to normal. Had I not been going moving slowly this default would have caused an accident.”

NHTSA complaint #11364731, filed 2020-10, 46,000 miles

“Went to go use my brakes and noticed they got really hard and almost hit someone. I towed it to the dealership and they said it was a faulty vacuum pump, belt, etc..I had asked if this was recalled they said no .told me it was going to be 1600 to fix. I went home and did a little research apparently this is an issue. 2015 chevy 1500 65k miles”

NHTSA complaint #11187314, filed 2019-03, 8 miles

“When traveling in stop and go traffic, the brake pedal gets very hard and you can not stop the vehicle. This happened to me 3 times too many, I had the vehicle towed to the dealership, $709.00 later, they supposedly replaced the vacuum pump. Dealer stated they have had other vehicles brought in for the same reason. This is a serious problem.”

NHTSA complaint #11170930, filed 2019-01, 43,362 miles

“Breaks will not catch . As I'm driving and trying to stop the truck will keep rolling . This is even when driving slow . The break pedal is hard . And will not stop. I took truck in for a recall on the break system but the light sensor is still on and breaks will not catch. This is going forward backward parked or going to light . Has been happening off and on for a month.”
