“Got in my vehicle and started to go and when I pressed on the brakes to stop I noticed that the brakes were fluttering and not stopping properly . So I looked up and there's a recall on GM model but not the chevy model . So I called my dealer where I bought it from and they told me the same that there are no recalls on mine but to bring it in anyway.”

NHTSA complaint #11318359, filed 2020-03, 32,300 miles

“On my 2016 SILVERADO 1500 when I am at slow speeds and press the brake pedal it does not stop the truck. The pedal becomes extremely stiff and the only way to stop the truck is the emergency brake or using both feet pressing the brake pedal with all my force. I have found by my dealer that it is a faulty vacuum pump also not covered under warranty.”

NHTSA complaint #11193671, filed 2019-04, 49,000 miles

“As I was driving in traffic my brakes became so hard to push that I could not successfully get it to stop effectively without using my body's weight to try and depress the brakes. I still couldn't get it to stop correctly. Then I was in stop and go traffic and almost rear ended someone. Happened many times more before I could get it in to be fixed.”

NHTSA complaint #11180336, filed 2019-02, 55,300 miles

“Lose of breaking power at low speed. I lost all breaking power trying to maneuver in a parking garage and parking lot. There are no lights that come on during or after this. I have had it happen 3 times almost resulting in damage to my vehicle and others. The break peddle stiffens and provides almost no breaking.”

NHTSA complaint #11395627, filed 2021-02, 65,000 miles

“Suddenly in early november, when I pulled into a parking lot or into the driveway in my home the brake pedal on the truck would suddenly become hard and incompressible. I nearly hit other vehicles and pedestrians because I couldn't brake at low speeds. I took it to the shop and was told the vacuum pump was not working properly and needed to be replaced.”
