“Our 2016 chevy SILVERADO 1500 transmission started knocking, pinging, and hesitating. We contacted the dealership and they diagnosed that we needed a new transmission.this vehicle is only 3.5 years old. It should not be responding the way. I noticed online that a class action lawsuit is being filed, however, GM does not recognize the lawsuit yet.”

NHTSA complaint #11316244, filed 2020-03, 100,000 miles

“Vehicle shifts really hard when slowing to a stop or when accelerating. This has been a problem since the truck was brand new but chevy said there is nothing wrong. It does not happen every time but I'd say it's atleast a few times every trip. I told chevy about it either in the first or second year after buying the truck.”

NHTSA complaint #11389672, filed 2021-01, 200 miles

“At around 82,000 miles car started to be hard to drive due to transmission failing to switch gears properly... Now at 92,500 it's barely switching gears... I received error codes and check at dealership, they say it's not under warranty. I knew I am covered up to 100,000 mike's for drive train. Please help!”

NHTSA complaint #11387754, filed 2021-01, 82,500 miles

“Truck has 104,000 miles on it. Saturday it stopped going into any gear and would not move, clearly the transmission. It initially was jerking as I pulled into a side street and once I got to where I needed to be and tried to drive again, it wouldn't go into any gear. Took to aamco in albany where they diagnosed that the transmission pump failed and will need a complete rebuild and there is a national back order for this pump.”

NHTSA complaint #11396346, filed 2021-02, 104,000 miles

“This vehicle (2016 silverado) has all the characteristics associated with the chevy shake , an unresolvable driveline under seat vibration that is very severe at times. Gm has issued service bulletin pi1354c which I followed at my expense to reduce / eliminate the severe shake that occurs at speeds of 69 ' 79 MPH with no improvement. …”
