“I will drive down the road and the display goes black on dash and I hear clicking sound and truck shuts off. Steering wheel has locked up making turns, left or right. Issues mostly happen when driving extended period of times but has cut off with short trips and parking, backing in. These issues started around dec 2019 and increased in frequency this year 2020.”
NHTSA complaint #11341125, filed 2020-07, 36,000 miles“When driving, if I do something electrical, like applying the brakes or using my turn signal, the entire car electrical system shuts off for a second and sometimes jerks the steering wheel out of my hand. It usually restarts immediately on its own while driving. I've had it also while parked with just the radio on, that everything just died. Then it took a few tries before the truck engine turned over to try starting it”
NHTSA complaint #11377189, filed 2020-11, 68,000 miles“While setting in a drive thru my steering wheel will jerk back and fourth and then my truck will die. I get several different messages on my dash stability track needs service, window needs rolled down then up, or trailer assist. This has happened multiple times.”
NHTSA complaint #11331344, filed 2020-06, 124,000 miles“I was driving and lost all power I had no lights no steering no breaks and then everything came back on this is very very dangerous research it and there is a lot of people having the same problems something needs to be done”
NHTSA complaint #11340101, filed 2020-07, 55,000 miles“While turning onto a road, I turned the steering wheel approximately 20% and suddenly the steering wheel kicked back hard nearly breaking my wrist. Once I pulled off I was able to repeat the process several times in either direction, I have video of this issue. When it kicked back, I would lose all electrical power to dash instrumentation and also upon power coming back on, I would get stabilitrak errors and the vehicle and traction controlled would be turned off.”
