“When coming to a stop, the ABS system fails. I researched and I found a recall up to 2003 model for the same exact problem. I do not think it was corrected in the 2004 model. Disconnected the fuse to stop the problem but it now is an issue because I'm trying to sell the vehicle and the ABS light on all the time. They want $900 to replace the ABS module.”

NHTSA complaint #10627688, filed 2014-08, 80,000 miles

“I own a 2004 chevy silverado and I'm having issues with the dash cluster odometer reading correctly. I feel it a safety issue when you can not tell how fast you are going while driving. If your caught going 20 MPH above the speed limit, it's considered dangerous enrecliment. Am I wrong? The odometer reads incorrectly every time I drive my truck.”

NHTSA complaint #10389778, filed 2011-03, 111,023 miles

“Everytime I drive on the interstate my speedometer reads the wrong speed, or quits working entirely. The tachometer does not even work at all. Speedometer reads wrong in winter time, freezes after I hit a bump in the road. Usually requiring me to turn off the engine to reset it.”

NHTSA complaint #10598457, filed 2014-06, 1 miles

“Driving down the highway speedometer indicated 57 in a 70 MPH zone so I accelerated to get up to speed.climbed ever so slowly to 70 when I realized tach at approx.3000 RPM and very quickly gaining on traffic ahead of me. Got off accelerator and speedometer went down to 30. Stayed there for a minute or two then dropped to zero. Hasnt worked since.”

NHTSA complaint #10269794, filed 2009-05, 130,000 miles

“I have a 2004 chevy silverado and the speedometer keeps failing on it one day it quits at 40 or 60 then somedays it quits at 120 or don't register at all now it seems to have quit all together I have not seen it work in a couple weeks , after seeing all the complaints about this same problem I believe that GM should recall these problems.”
