NHTSA complaint #10452115, filed 2012-03, 34,200 miles

“Engine misfires and is downgraded to 25 MPH on highway. Engine knocks and rattles. Problem is a known failure on a good share of 2004.5 through 2005 duramax diesel trucks where #2 and #7 fuel injector harness fails. Mfg know this is a problem and will not fix the truck until the problem has surfaced. This problem could result in rear end collision on highway. They do not honor the warranty which states 5yrs.,100,000 miles. Cost $504 my cost. I have a complaint lodged with the better business bureau of ct. Fuel injector wiring harnesssvc bulletin 05-06-04-047c.”

The dealer had attempted to repair the vehicle by replacing the fuel system on 4 occasions but that did not remedy the problem. The vehicle had run out of fuel on 10 occasions because of the inaccurate fuel gauge. The contact planned to contact the manufacturer.”
