“Summary: Sudden loss of engine power while driving due to lifter failure. Details: While driving my 2022 Chevrolet Suburban equipped with the 5.3L V8 (RPO L84), the engine suddenly lost power without warning. The vehicle began misfiring and lost propulsion in traffic, creating a hazardous situation. I was unable to maintain normal speed and had to maneuver to safety while the truck rapidly lost power. …”

NHTSA complaint #11689352, filed 2025-09

“Check engine light with rough shifting and vehicle wouldn’t go in reverse. For safety reasons we had the vehicle towed to our local Chevy Dealership. Transmission needed a valve body rebuild. This is a known issue with this transmission but our VIN wasn’t under that recall.”

NHTSA complaint #11724686, filed 2026-03

“In several separate unreplicable instances, the vehicle has turned off while driving, once on the highway, once on my street, once turning across heavy traffic, and others. I've almost died a couple times and I've taken it to the dealership several times, they have Not been able to find anything wrong with it and have been unable to replicate the issue. The engine has been replaced, and it was happening before and since. My 2023 is also doing the same thing.”

NHTSA complaint #11722195, filed 2026-03

“While driving on vacation our car just slowed down gave the message, “reduced acceleration, drive with care” and then shut off while on the high way. We were able to start it again but after that haven’t had that message but have had the message to service safety restraint system multiple times. I have taken my SUV to the dealership multiple times for both issues and they have said multiple codes generate but they can’t find anything to fix.”

NHTSA complaint #11668592, filed 2025-06

“While driving from work to the gym (03/04/25), I was stuck in traffic due to a wreck; when traffic started moving again, I didn't. It was like it was in neutral and was just sitting there revving the engine. It finally started moving but clearly not functioning properly. A few miles later the Check Engine light came on with a Reduced Acceleration Drive with Care message displayed on the dash. I limped it into the parking lot and as I tried to back into a parking space the vehicle stalled and put itself in park. …”
