“The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler Sebring. The contact started the ignition and a loud rattling noise emitted from the front passenger side of the vehicle. The failure recurred whenever the engine was in operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who was unable to determine the cause of failure or pinpoint where the noise was coming from. The manufacturer was notified and the engineer was unable to provide a resolution. The approximate failure mileage was 4,888 updated 04/10/12”

The consumer stated the rack pinion failed again three years later. When the consumer picked the vehicle up, from the dealer, the noise was still there. The consumer returned to the dealer, and according to their diagnosis, the vehicle needed a new steering column. When the consumer picked the vehicle up again, the noise was still present. The technician informed the consumer, the noise was coming from the rack and pinion again, and there was no remedy. …”
