“Air bag light constantly on, no horn no cruise control no radio control. Went to dealer for recall on airbag steering wheel clock spring and was told I would have to pay for diagnostic and also pay for part in case it was not covered. This is not how a safety recall should be performed to my understanding”
NHTSA complaint #11256627, filed 2019-09, 135,025 miles“No accident, crash, or injury. My air bag clock spring failed and my air bag warning light illuminated. I'm told by the dealer that my air bag will now not work (also my cruise control & steering wheel radio controls are not funtional). This is a serious safety issue & I am getting it repaired quickly at a cost of over $220. This should be paid for by daimler Chrysler!.”
NHTSA complaint #10093385, filed 2004-09, 96,500 miles“Air bag indicator light is on constantly, horn doesn't work, stereo controls on steering wheel don't work, cruise control doesn't work. I'm afraid airbag won't deploy on accident and I can't honk my horn if immediate problem arises.”
NHTSA complaint #10092989, filed 2004-09, 78,000 miles“The clock spring mechanism in my 1999 Chrysler t&c caused the airbag warning light to illuminate; other items in the steering wheel area do not work- 1) cruise control, 2) radio volume and station control, 3) horn”
