“My van stalls everytime I fill up the tank. I do not tap off the tank I fill it till the handle clicks once and thats it. I have done a ton of research and found that its the fuel vapor separator. Then only way to fix said problem which is totally common on all chysler vans the way I am reading it is that I have to replace the entire fuel tank. It stalls after filling up and when I start to drive.”

NHTSA complaint #11002745, filed 2017-07, 94,000 miles

“If the van is really low on gas and I fill it up completely, when I leave the station, by the first or second time I stop or really slow down the van will die. It must be filled completely though. I have been a couple places to get it checked out but can't find a problem. I try and make it die on me now before leaving the parking lot.”

NHTSA complaint #10632806, filed 2014-09, 125,000 miles

“Twice now I have had to replace the fuel pump not due to the pump itself but the housing cracks and causes a leak. At 54,000 and 130,000. Same problem caused a fuel leak. The second time the seal gave out completely in front of my children's' school. The fuel tank emptied in the parking lot, had to have towed to a shop. Contacted chrysler, they were of no help.”

NHTSA complaint #10525859, filed 2013-07, 130,000 miles

“I noticed a strong gasoline smell whenever I approached the car. I took it to my mechanic and he knew immediately what was wrong and said he had already repaired 3 or 4 dodges with the same problem. The fuel pump was replaced because the housing was cracked and caused fuel to leak. I found no recalls for this issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10555437, filed 2013-12, 171,813 miles

“I have been smelling gasoline fumes which are becoming progressively worse. I will have it checked out tomorrow but my friend who is ase certified mechanic for 35 years said that it sounds like a fuel pump and housing unit problem. The smell is getting worse and worse and becomes overwhelming when I fill up my tank with gasoline. The fumes are making me ill. My friend told me that it would be expensive to replace.”
