“I noticed a strong gas smell in my car after I fill up. And every time I filled the tank the smell would be very strong inside the car. Well after about 6 months of not filling up, l recently had it checked out and it turns out the plastic fuel pump casing is cracked and gas is pooling underneath the passenger side sit.”

NHTSA complaint #10825564, filed 2016-02, 12,350 miles“Vehicle: 2013 Dodge Charger R/T I’m reaching out because my car has been showing signs that seem to match the symptoms of the V62 recall that FCA issued for the fuel pump relay issue. I have a 2013 Dodge Charger R/T with the 5.7L HEMI engine. Lately, the car has been having trouble starting, especially after it’s been driven and sits in the heat. Sometimes it cranks but won’t turn over, and other times it randomly dies or stalls when I’m coming to a stop. It recently sat for a couple of days and then started again like nothing happened. …”
NHTSA complaint #11673932, filed 2025-07“Gas tank and fuel pumps are located under passenger seat. The primary fuel pump is located on rear passenger side. I have been getting a gas smell after fueling. I thought maybe some gas spilled or it was my fuel filler neck so I had it checked perfectly fine. So I fueled again today and smelled gas. Lifted rear seat and noticed crack on black plastic cover. Removed and a pool of gas on top of driver side fuel pump. Researched online and found several charger challenger Chrysler owners with the same exact issues. …”
