“We were stopped behind an ambulance in traffic when a large pick-up truck barreled into us. Driver was intoxicated. My 5-year old daughter was strapped into the built-in booster seat in the middle bench. On impact, the whole bench came out of the floor and flipped her forward and then backwards. She sustained a black eye.”

NHTSA complaint #10487242, filed 2012-12, 87,000 miles

“My daughter got her thumb in the way of the power sliding door of our Dodge Grand Caravan and the door shut completely on her thumb. I thought the door was supposed to open back up if there was something in the way of it.”

NHTSA complaint #10228240, filed 2008-05, 14,000 miles

“2007 Dodge Grand Caravan sxt stow n go having several electrical issues. 1. Passenger power sliding door failed, replaced power door motor, lock actuator, and repaired wiring as the wires actually break/snap overtime. Poor design. 2. Less than two years later passenger power sliding door has failed again, & power locks will not work, & I can open passenger sliding door after locking vehicle with key fob and alarm won't sound! Cannot get my children in and out of this door without reaching in and pulling up the lever from inside (too stiff, my daughter isn't strong enough). …”

NHTSA complaint #10668258, filed 2014-12, 96,000 miles

“On several occasions, after pressing button to close rear sliding door, I tried to stop the door from closing by putting my body in the way. The door kept closing and did not automatically stop and reverse like it is suppose to. This not only happened to me, but also both of my small children. In every case, they were scared to tears because of the pressure put on them prior to the door reversing like it is supposed to. As an adult female, I was also scared by the amount of pressure the door placed on me as I pushed back to try and stop it before it would finally reverse.”

NHTSA complaint #10295749, filed 2009-12, 37,924 miles

“The vehicle was parked on an inclined driveway. The vehicle was turned of and the key was not in the ignition. My daughter pulled the column shifter without pressing the brake pedal. The vehicle shifted into reverse and rolled backwards down the driveway. The front passenger side door was open. The door struck a tree and stopped the rolling vehicle.”
