“The passenger rear sliding door will not open with the keyfob. You have to manually lock and unlock. When you hit the door button on the keyfob it will unlock the rest of the doors but not open the door. If the rest of the doors are unlocked and you grab the sliding door it will set off the alarm. If it is locked it will not unlock and open with the button on the roof until manually unlocked.”

NHTSA complaint #11413995, filed 2021-04, 53,000 miles

“Passenger side sliding door is stuck in the locked position. Nothing I do will unlock it. The lock doesn't respond to any buttons either on the key fob or on the overhead panel. Also cannot be unlocked manually. It is my belief that this is a serious safety issue for rear passengers.”

NHTSA complaint #11689287, filed 2025-09

“The driver's inside door handle broke off during routine use. This could pose an egress hazard. No accident happened; the handle broke while the vehicle was parked. The handle was replaced by the dealer at our cost (warranty was expired). We still have the broken handle in our possession, and are providing pictures.”

NHTSA complaint #11527864, filed 2023-06

“The door handle on the interior passenger side front seat snapped off. Less than six months later, the door handle on the interior of the driver side front seat snapped off. If this occurs, and we get in an accident before we can get a replacement, we are trapped in the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11434770, filed 2021-09

“2019 Dodge Caravan driver door handle broke. It is a thin plastic. This van was brand new when I got it and it just barely turn 2 years old. I am disabled and when I cannot use my left side it is hard to wine down window and open the door from the outside. I cannot climb to other seats to get out. I asked the dealer where I got the van if they were going to fix it. I was told labor and part nearly $500. I feel they should fix free cause it is a danger to people with disavantages.”
