“I had a 2010 Dodge Journey that caught fire while I was driving and proceeded to burn to the ground. I was turning to park in front of my friend's home, when the fire burst out of the engine, near the windshield. This, on its own, may not be overly monumental, but there are many factors involved that I believe need to be brought to public attention. First, the car was purchased brand new off the lot 2 months prior to the march 11 incident. …”

“2010 Dodge Journey stalls out while driving it dealer says he has view it when it happen.....I see that there are many complaints for this condition and Dodge is doing nothing to fix it #2 this car has four complete brake jobs on it in its first 10,000 miles brake pads and rotors and calipers I feel the car shake when you apply the brakes. I have never heard of a car needing this done in it 1st 10,000 miles once again I see many complaints out there.”

NHTSA complaint #10383898, filed 2011-02, 2,932 miles

“Went to have my brakes inspected due to a screeching sound. The sound at 1st lasted about 2 weeks. By the time I made it to the brake shop it of course stopped. Upon inspection of the braking system we were told that in 3 more days the brakes would have went out. We do not drive hard or ever have to stop fast. My husband & I learned that the brake system has an known issue with the brake shop.. We were told the brakes will screech & then stop working if not fixed right away! That's very scary as we don not want to crash & kill someone or our selves. …”

“My Dodge was purchased and originally had a radio connection problem. Where it played static while playing a cd as well as the speakers sounded blown out. Since he radio has been replaced 3 times and still seems to remain the same. I have had the alignment done 4 times since may 2011 and the problem remains.the AC has a delay when turned on. But my bigger problem is when I felt my car shudder while pulling away from the curb. It seriously felt as though the wheels were going to fall right off and out from under the car. …”

NHTSA complaint #10430430, filed 2011-10, 30,000 miles

“While driving my car lost all electrical power and engine shut down. I quickly put the car in park and restarted. When I contacted the service department they had me bring the car in but were unable to duplicate the problem. They kept the car for over a week and no one was able to have this happen. There is also a secondary issue. When you initially go to start the car it will not start the first time. It will however start the second time. Again the service department was unable to duplicate the problem. …”
