“Driving down the road my car shut off on its own. I had to put the car in neutral to get it started again. This is not the first time it happens frequently. I found out that a recall on the ignition switch module had been repaired but it is still hepening so I feel the recall needs to be reopened. If it goes unfixed I fear it will cause a serious accident.”
NHTSA complaint #11318851, filed 2020-03, 93,000 miles“My wife was driving the car and it shut off while driving. The engine and electric system shut off and she could not use the brakes. She had to coast to a parking lot and then it started up again. We have taken it into a mechanic and there is no information on the computer regarding what happened. He cannot diagnose the problem.”
NHTSA complaint #11308704, filed 2020-02, 140,000 miles“Esp, bas, & traction lights on can't take out of park. Dealership replaced tipm ($1200) next morning lights come back on & once stopped, can't take out of park. When starting vehicle, I have to hurry & put in reverse before all dials are registering & safe to drive, otherwise esp, bas. & traction lights will be on & I'm not able to take out of park.”
NHTSA complaint #10984237, filed 2017-05, 80,000 miles“I have a 2010 Dodge Journey bought it a week ago with 108k miles after I brought it home horn would go off by itself had to pull the fuses out to get it to stop and now recently when trying to accelerate the RPM will go to 5000 at a speed of 40 MPH and won't shift and it will cost me a fortune to get it diagnosed and repaired”
NHTSA complaint #11076180, filed 2018-03, 108,900 miles“1st thing was the horn, randomly honking at all hours of the day of night. It had stopped.... For now.... But now my car is not starting. For some reason it won't turn over, I can turn key to let it do it's emission test before starting then turning key to start, it just clicks and doesn't start. Car has done it at grocery store, daycare, work, even shut off by itself while stopped at a red light.”
