“That morning I was driving to work heading east on state road 56. I was passing another vehicle when the accelerator stuck to the floor. I was exceeding 100 MPH and could not slow down. I had both feet on the brake pedal but that didn't help. The brakes were smoking hot!!. Thank god there wasn't a school bus picking up children at that time. I finally decided to turn the ignition switch off. I thought maybe the steering wheel would lockup; but it worked.”

NHTSA complaint #10715117, filed 2015-05, 87,200 miles

“Unintended acceleration while driving into garage. Engine RPM increased while my foot was on the brake. Nothing happened luckily I had the brake applied so I didn't hit anything. Also on the highway a couple of times the engine RPM increases by itself momentarily causing the truck to surge.”

NHTSA complaint #10459738, filed 2012-05, 18,000 miles

“I pulled onto a major highway after stopping at a yield sign. The truck reached about 35 MPH and suddenly it felt like something was holding the back of the truck and wouldn't let it go any faster. I pushed down on the accelerator but the truck wouldn't go any faster. I took my foot off the accelerator and stepped on the brake and almost came to a complete stop. When I stepped on the accelerator again the truck seemed to be normal.”

NHTSA complaint #10467528, filed 2012-07, 24,000 miles

“I was driving vehicle at 55 MPH along undivided 2 lane highway. Differential began to make whining noise and then within 1-2 minutes the rear differential locked up and the drive shaft yoke broke causing the drive shaft to drop to the ground. Due to the speed, vehicle control was difficult while attempting to stop. Once stopped, drive shaft yoke was obviously snapped off and passenger side rear tire had melted rubber from being dragged for a few hundred feet when differential locked up. …”

NHTSA complaint #10467805, filed 2012-07, 50,000 miles

“2010 Dodge RAM 1500 hemi traveling at highway speed when instantly the gauge cluster started acting erratic. First the tire pressure display said that different tires were showing a multitude of different pressures the gas gauge started flickering between full and empty as well as the stop working of the speedometer and tachometer air-conditioned, power steering and continual windshield wiper on even though they were off at the switch. Radio intermittently on and off and ABS and airbag light on and off intermittently. All four windows fail to operate and interior lighting will not come on. …”
