“Stripped differential. I was told by a service tech that the vehicle is safe to drive until it isn’t that Ford is aware but does not have a fix. It is available for inspection. The vehicle is getting worse, and I only drive short distances. Olathe Ford did the inspection. They will not give me a copy of the inspection. I have never received any warning lights whatsoever.”
NHTSA complaint #11770867, filed 2026-10“I have had my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport for two years and four months. I have maintained my car very well, doing all of the recommendations that the dealership told me throughout the years. However, out of no where on Friday, November 1st, 2024 my transmission went without any signs or symptoms beforehand. This is a two year old car, this issue should not be happening.”
NHTSA complaint #11623709, filed 2024-11“At a little over 75,000 miles, I had a warning light come on that basically said there was a problem shifting between 7th & 8th gear and it put my car into safe mode. After getting it to a dealership, I'm told it needs a new transmission and was quoted $10,000. That's incredible excessive for a 3 year old car and reading through many online forums, I'm not the only one this has happened to with this car.”
NHTSA complaint #11710414, filed 2026-01“I took the car in to get it checked for a grinding noise that was being made when I would pull out of a parking spot. They found that the rear differential went out and needs to be replaced. This is on a 2022 Bronco Sport with 41k miles. It is currently at the Ford dealership but the part is on back order with no eta.”
NHTSA complaint #11569558, filed 2024-02“The wrench icon which refers to the Powertrain system keeps coming on. I received a message from the Ford pass system that there was (Fault) in the Powertrain system. That power was reduced. Further it said to see a dealer right away. All of the Ford Dealers in my area are all booked up.”
