“This car has less than 2,500 miles on it, and it failed to go into gear when pulling out on a major highway. When it did slip into gear, it would only go 10 MPH the whole way home. Multiple alerts were sent to my phone; see below for specific alert info. The dealership said it was a loose wire after telling me they would replace the car, and over 60 sensors went off. Alerts: service engine warning powertrain malfunction reduced power pre-collision assistance not available”
NHTSA complaint #11636521, filed 2025-01“I don’t know the exact name of the system that failed but my Bronco would not accelerate after making complete stops. When I would press on the gas pedals to move from a stopped position the Bronco would move very very slowly which in turn almost caused me to have over 3 car accidents as when I would press the gas to move from a stopping position it would move forward very slowly no matter who much pressure I would put on the gas pedal which in turn the oncoming cars almost hit me. …”
NHTSA complaint #11691255, filed 2025-10“The Powertrain of this Ford Bronco Sport (2024) with only 12,000 miles on it malfunctioned while the driver was on a major highway. No control over gears, engine power, etc. Had to pull over in heavy traffic. Fortunately there was a shoulder, or this would have been a major safety risk for the driver and other vehicles and would likely have resulted in an accident. Apparently, this malfunction is related to battery issues as well and can affect the emergency caution flashers. …”
