“I bought new a 2007 e350 heavy duty diesel cargo van that developed dangerous driving/handling condition at app 75,000 miles. Never a accident, always properly serviced, freeway driving 90% of the time , load evenly dispersed and under weight for e350. It has floaty, drifty, wandering handling at freeway speeds. Constant condition now. Dealer has had van 4-5 times and in their possession for over 40 days off and on. 3 months pursuing the problem. We have replaced bushings, coil springs, shocks, driving gear box and aligned the van 3 times. Ford tech's involved. …”
NHTSA complaint #10351835, filed 2010-08, 75,000 miles“Hankook dynapro as lt245-75/16 tread separation on a 2007 Ford e350 superduty van. This was the 4th occurrence of a problem with this brand / model / size tire on a single Ford e350 van. One tire failure each year on average. All failures occurred at 15,000-30,000 miles, 7/32 - 10/32 tread depth, while mounted on the rear axle.”
NHTSA complaint #10525682, filed 2013-07, 122,000 miles“Tire tread separated after only about 23,000 miles of use on a van conversion of a Ford e350. The maker of the van conversions is pleasure-way (not found in your list of vehicle mfg and models). Multiple owners of pleasure-way vehicles have reported similar tire problems.”
NHTSA complaint #10372352, filed 2010-12, 22,976 miles“2007 Ford E-350 passenger van had problems with original tires, hankook , and have had to have all four replaced at various times due to slipped belts. Have noticed when tires have been removed from rim the following: tire pressure sensors falling apart in the tire. Throws off tire balance and performance. Wire strap that holds sensor in place breaks in half. This leaves two sharp pieces of metal whipping around inside the tire with potential for causing tire failure and accident. Severe problem since this is a commuter van with 15 passengers.”
