“The apim in the touch screen that controls GPS, radio, blu tooth, is faulty so navigation will stop working, calls on blu tooth will drop, and you can't change radio stations. My backup camera will also get stuck on the screen even when I'm in drive. This can happen at all times, but usually will start out working then”

“I was driving down i25 in colorado. It was 75 with clear skies with no cars around me. Suddenly I heard a loud sound that sounded like a shot gun went off in my vehicle. We soon realized my sunroof had exploded. Nothing hit it. It just exploded. We later found out this is fairly common. Thankfully we had the shade pulled closed so no one was injured.”

“We bought the 2016 Ford Escape brand new. We've owned it all 3 years and it has 80,000 miles and the transmission broke. I know there are issues with other Ford transmissions so I'm wondering if the issue extends into my vehicle.”

“While driving on I-95 in maryland on 1/29/20 when I heard an explosion and realized my sunroof had either exploded or imploded. As I drove I could hear the glass sliding on the headliner which fortunately was closed. I was able to drive to where I was staying as I was working out of state (I live in wellington, fl) , covered my car roof with a tarp and then took it in for repairs. The day it happened the weather was sunny, not very hot and there were no objects that hit the roof of my car.”

NHTSA complaint #11309105, filed 2020-02, 95,000 miles

This sound goes on and off and then the vehicle starts to shake, the brake goes to the floor and then there is no way you can control the vehicle and everything shuts down . This happens while I was in the middle lane driving on a city street. This was a scary experience. This same sound happen three times before but the car did not shut down, the vehicle shake after the sounds but I continue driving. …”
