“Front windshield is prone to crack. I have had to replace 5 windshields since I first purchased the vehicle. It is a known documented issue. Assuming aerodynamics is the issue and can cause more than the reasonable amount of cracked windshields. Valve body and transmission went out at 100,243 miles. All requested/required regular maintenance was completed.”
NHTSA complaint #11577252, filed 2024-03, 100,243 miles“Sunroof shade came off track while driving and I had to hold it the whole way home so I could see out the back window to safely drive. Upon research I found this is a common defect on the escapes and ford has done nothing to prevent this. Repairs cost thousands of dollars and this is not ok. This needs to be a recall to be fixed for all escapes affected.”
NHTSA complaint #11736802, filed 2026-05“The Sunroof Shade curtain will not roll away when I try to open the roof shade. It crumbles up at the back or just doesn't roll up with the track. I have read several online Ford forums and a lot of people have been complaining about this issue. Could someone please look into this and see if this is a manufacturing problem, thank you.”
NHTSA complaint #11698818, filed 2025-11“Door welds were recalled and doors to replace have been on back order for months. My drivers side window now does not properly go up and down. Door pops when opened or closed and will not stay open if needed. My drivers side window also now has a scratch. I’m tired of waiting for a repair and still having to pay for a vehicle that is falling apart and nothing being done about it.”
NHTSA complaint #11654797, filed 2025-04“Ford is not recalling their ford escape and broncos. I tired to get my state inspection done at two places for my 2021 ford escape and was told that they can not connect to the system due to faulty programs from ford. I was told to go to ford and they wanted ti charge me $199.99 to update the faulty software. They said it is a known problem and ford isn’t/hasn’t recalled it.”
