“Our 208 Ford Expedition platinum 4x4 puts out a very high amount of carbon monoxide, to the point that it makes my children sick. After very little research, it appears as though our vehicle is having the same issue thousands of people had with their Ford explorers.”

NHTSA complaint #11397858, filed 2021-02, 20,000 miles

“Even though I have put the car in park, it still moves and has hit me and some of the passengers getting out the car with the doors and other parts of the vehicle almost running us over. The vehicle was put in park according to dial. However, it still moved.”

NHTSA complaint #11255235, filed 2019-09, 15,000 miles

“My 2018 Ford Expedition max 4x4 was diagnosed with the issue described in tcb-20-2315 in aug 2019. The repair was done per the tcb and completed in oct 2019. The vehicle was in the shop for 10 weeks and I had to return it 4 times for additional repairs until the issue was temporarily resolved. The problem reoccured in jul 2020 and it took over 5 visits to the dealership and intervention from Ford cust service to get the vehicle repaired in dec 2020. I have already returned the vehicle again this time because the issue was not resolved and now will need to return the vehicle a third time. …”

NHTSA complaint #11385366, filed 2020-12, 32,478 miles

“25000 miles. Previously quiet on startup. Started making a rattling sound if vehicle sat overnight a month ago. Initially lasted 1-2 seconds. More recently sound heard on startup after sitting only a few hours, and lasts 4-5 seconds. Similar to complaints reported on issue 15-0131 on 2015-era Ford products needing cam phaser, timing chain replacement and scan tool reprogramming. Noise is loud enough now that I fear accelerating timing chain damage possible failure.”

NHTSA complaint #11355264, filed 2020-09, 25,000 miles

“After taking my car in for a service bulletin and being told that the noise that was happening in my car was just a noise, I found out that my cam phasers needed to be replaced out of warranty. Driving down the road my car had a decrease in power and could have resulted in a wreck as I was not able to speed up correctly on the interstate.”
