“I was driving and felt a clunk in transmission and lost power and almost got rear ended. The wrench light came on so I pulled over and turned off the vehicle. I restarted and it ran fine but the transmission is dangerous, I don't want that to happen again. The transmission constantly hard shifts. This was at 2am in the morning when I was driving from FL to MD.”

The emergency braking image followed by a warning chime would appear on the instrument panel during the failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where he was informed that the failure could not be duplicated. An investigator was sent to inspect the vehicle and the brake module was replaced. Despite the repair, the failure persisted. …”

The Ford technician strongly encouraged me to replace the transmission after his the dealership inspected the vehicle and were able to replicate the problem. This was an out of pocket expense.
