2009 Ford F-250 SD Suspension Problems

“I'm a life time Ford truck owner and have never been so disappointed in my life and ready to purchase from a competitor. The title death wobble is very true and Ford really needs to pay attention because it will cost someone their life. If I wasn't 65 years old and an experienced driver the multiple times I've experienced this could have killed me. I have replaced everything involving the suspension, tires, struts, rods, having multiple alignments, etc.. And nothing has fixed this mess. Ford needs to fix this. …”

“Hit a small bump and truck shakes violently. Shaking does not stop until vehicle is slowed down or completely stopped. It has happened 14 times at speeds ranging from 40 MPH to 75 MPH. Alignment is fine, tires balanced and at 50% life, new shocks, new steering damper and suspension components show no sign of wear. Despite this, problem persists and is actually becoming more frequent.”

“Took vehicle to Ford dealership for routine maintenance and to diagnose loose steering issue at highway speed. Vehicle was diagnosed with failed track bar ball joints, track bar bushings and excessive side to side movement. Front axle dust seals were failed and would need to be replaced. Steering gear box was determined to be failing and need to be replaced. Parts for the gear box were on national back order with 120 day time frame for delivery. The dealership indicated that the combined effect of the failures would have been a catastrophic event if at highway speed. …”

“While driving north on rt 95, every time you make a left curve the truck shook unmercifully. We would have to pull off & come to a complete stop for this to stop happening. Mind you we are outside of baltimore at one time praying that no one would hit us!!! The truck is at a Ford dealership as we speak, trying to figure out the problem. Naturally its shocks (not covered by warranty) steering stabilizer rotate & balance tires. But now that I've read your other complaints I see I'm not alone. We only have 45,00 on the truck, there should be no need for any of this expense yet!!! …”

“The contact owns a 2009 Ford F-250 SD. While driving 55 MPH over a pothole, the vehicle started to shake violently without warning. Once the speed was reduced, the vehicle stopped shaking. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician replaced the track bar, ball joint, bushing, and the steering damper. The remedy failed to repair the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 98,000.”
