“I've experienced a problem twice with my 2017 f350 super duty truck called the death wobble. At highway speeds hitting an uneven road surface, my truck front wheels begin to shake uncontrollably. I must immediately slow to a stop to end the wobble. My truck has less than 6k miles, so it isn't because of any worn parts. I found out via the internet it is a common problem with Ford super duty trucks.”
NHTSA complaint #11157006, filed 2018-12, 4,800 miles“On may 24th, 2018 while driving my tailgate automatically came down. I was towing a 5th wheel rv trailer at the time and damage occurred to the tailgate top trim and the rv front garage door. Both the trim and the front garage door had to be replaced, plus touchup paint for the tailgate edges.”
NHTSA complaint #11141447, filed 2018-10, 10,000 miles“My truck has had a death wobble since it was about 3 months old. The first time I thought maybe just a road condition. It's been fixed 3 times but hasn't been corrected yet. It happens at interstate speeds of 70+ MPH”
NHTSA complaint #11320648, filed 2020-04, 32,000 miles“I was driving down the freeway to work at approximately 70 MPH when my truck started to shake so bad in the front end I almost took out the vehicle to my left and ended up halfway in the ditch. I had 0 control over my truck”
NHTSA complaint #11278602, filed 2019-11, 42,300 miles“The door ajar light, dome light, and truck bed light stays on when the doors are closed and while driving on city roads. Once on the highway the senor will finally go off. We have told the dealership about the problem a few times but they refuse to do anything if they cannot see it happening. After driving to the dealership, the problem is not visible because we have to take the highway. They finally scheduled an appt. But waiting until the warranty expired to tell us they had time for us to bring it. It has literally been 3 years this month!”
