“Rear view camera shows a black or blue screen on display. This happened the other day in the middle of backing my vehicle and caused a near miss with an person crossing behind vehicle. This is a major safety issue and i see ford has recalled almost every make and model for this same issue but not the flex.”
NHTSA complaint #11569170, filed 2024-01“While car is in reverse the rear view camera cuts in and out more than 75 %of time while. This has resulted in several near miss collisions while backing up. But when I checked my vin it was included in the current recall for the same issue and concern.”
NHTSA complaint #11686744, filed 2025-09“REAR backup camera has upside down view. Tried various remedies (reset, and battery disconnect) to fix issue but when vehicle is put into reverse camera has view that is upside down. Dealer says camera and soft ware needs to be replaced but is not covered under vehicle warranty. I see Ford is now recalling other models with the same issue. Can you let me know if the 2019 Ford Flex will be recalled for the same camera issues?”
NHTSA complaint #11504255, filed 2023-01“Backup camera is not working at all; there is a blank blue screen that appears with a warning that states: camera is unavailable. There is an open recall #NHTSA #24V951 and #24S75. Walker Ford Dealership was called today 10/14/2025 and stated there are no cameras available at this time for the recall. The parking sensors are no longer working because the backup camera is not working. My safety and others are at risk because I do not have any sensors to warn me if I am in a blind spot backing up.”
NHTSA complaint #11693245, filed 2025-10“Driver side mirror blind spot warning light is on constantly while I'm driving it never shuts off unless I shut the engine down. rear backup camera is not working at all. When I go to back up the car I only see a blue screen.”
