“On a few separate occasions, while either sitting in traffic at a light or driving my 2011 Ford Fusion has stalled in the middle of traffic. It hasn't happened for a few months and there is no rhyme or reason to when it will happen. When the stalling occurs the car literally shuts down in the middle of traffic and I have to restart the car to proceed.”
NHTSA complaint #10499962, filed 2013-02, 19,800 miles“I was driving on holmes gap rd a 1/4 of a mile from my house on saturday morning around 930 am at the speed of 20 MPH when the service light came on and the car started vibration and losing power I turned the car off and turned it on again and it drove for a bit and did it again did that on more time and it drove to our drive way when it did it again. So we manage to park it.”
NHTSA complaint #10522894, filed 2013-07, 79,100 miles“I drive a 2011 Ford Fusion, and on august 8, 2013, I was driving on a highway at about 65 MPH and I went down to about 5mph. I had to pull over and turn off the car. The check engine light and wrench light came on when this happened. After I shut it off the wrench light went off, but the check engine light stayed on. This happened again after I started the car again. The car is now in the shop. This should be a recall part.”
NHTSA complaint #10534453, filed 2013-08, 87,660 miles“I was driving my car at 60 MPH and it lost all power. I was able to pull over to the side of the road, kill the car, and when I restarted it; it seemed to be running fine. This same incident occurred today, 7/3/2013 while I was driving approximately 35 MPH. This time the car did appear to be running rough and once again had no power. It did not start as easily, it seemed to run rough when it first started and then it ran fine. This is a huge safety hazard! This could occur at any time in any kind of traffic.”
NHTSA complaint #10523117, filed 2013-07, 31,243 miles“I was leaving a shopping center and had to a stop to yield to traffic. When I placed my foot on the accelerator, I noticed that the car seemed to have lost power. I could not accelerate above10 MPH. I also felt the car shaking violently. The check engine and mechanic's wrench warning lights on the dashboard illuminated. I pulled to a stop at the gas station, shut off the engine and re-started the vehicle. Afterwards, the warning lights on the dashboard were no longer illuminated, and the car seemed to return to normal. …”
