“My backup camera does not work any longer. I have had several near-misses of collisions with both cars and people. Please make the recall fix available!! On the date of incident field, I just put the last time it happened. There have been multiple dates.”
NHTSA complaint #11744387, filed 2026-06“Our camera cuts in and out. We took it to Ford initially to run a diagnostic but they killed our battery doing the test and never finished. Now the camera is showing things opposite..our mailbox is on our right backing out but camea shows left. Same when a car pulled to our right but camera showed left and caused us a scare. Completely unreliable. It cuts off/on constantly when using it to back out and sometimes doesn't beep.”
NHTSA complaint #11527392, filed 2023-06“See attached document for complaint. In Oct I received letter (see enclosure) that there is a recall on my rear view camera. I’ve been waiting for Sam Galloway Ford in Ft Myers to call me to say they have parts to fix. I called them yesterday 3/9/26 and they didn’t have any idea about when this would happen. The manager suggested I write you. So can you help me? That letter came 5 months ago and it would seem like it would be time to fix the back up camera. I’ll appreciate an answer. Thank you.”
NHTSA complaint #11733197, filed 2026-04“Rear camera works intermittently. The Ford Dealer service said it failed and it'll be 800.00 to fix... I passed on that... but now that I'm seeing other Fords with camera recalls, I wonder if this problem is related.”
NHTSA complaint #11542470, filed 2023-09“Backup camera works intermittently. 75% of the time I get a blank screen with a message to contact a dealer for service. 25% of the time it works. I've been to a dealership to get it fixed and they were unable to fix it.”
