“My battery will not hold a charge. This will not allow me to remote start or unlock doors. The interior lights don’t come on at night. It happens probably 10 times a month.”
NHTSA complaint #11652219, filed 2025-04“My 2024 Ford Maverick manufactured 9/24 has failed to unlock on two separate occasions with key fob and the interior lights failed to come on when I unlocked the driver door with the mechanical metal key. When I checked the charge status of my battery it was depleted below 75%. I also noticed that the battery was a flooded acid type and is installed under the rear seat within the passenger compartment. The placement of a flooded acid type of battery in the passenger compartment poses a significant danger and risk of acid exposure in the event of a collision.”
NHTSA complaint #11633393, filed 2024-12“Interior lights fail to come on when opening doors on entering vehicle. Lights only come on after fumbling to locate and insert key in the ignition in the dark. What good is having interior light if it doesn't come on when you need to see how to enter and insert key. This has been happening from day 1 of receiving vehicle. I have reported it to dealer. But no action so far.”
NHTSA complaint #11648118, filed 2025-03“The contact owns a 2024 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicles driving behind contact were getting too close. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V095000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.”
NHTSA complaint #11655887, filed 2025-04, 18,000 miles“Since October 2024, at approximately 6,000 miles, began receiving this warning message in the ford pass app: “Remote features disabled to preserve battery Your 2024 Maverick equipped with FordPass(TM) Connect has entered Deep Sleep mode to conserve battery energy. Remote features including start/stop and lock/unlock may be temporarily unavailable because your battery charge level is low. You can easily fix this yourself by going for a longer ride. Make sure to keep your air conditioning and accessories off during this drive to recharge your battery faster. …”
