2007 Ford Mustang Seat belts Problems

“I stopped at a stop sign, then made a right hand turn, my car started sliding on the ice in the street, I turned the wheels hard left to avoid a car parked on the street, then I believe I tried turning right to stay on the street, unfortunately I hit a tree with the right side of front bumper hard enough to push the wheel back about 2-3 feet. …”

“Incident vehicle is a Mustang base convertible 2007 originally sold in hawaii and subjected to salt air, water and humidity. Front and rear seat belt retractor assembly floor mount tabs are severely rusted on all surfaces. This appears to be caused by substandard steel or inferior anti-corrosion treatment used in the manufacturing process. The inevitable structural failure of these tabs or the abrasion to the seat belt caused by the rust creates a safety hazard. The seat belt buckle assemblies located nearby have little to no corrosion. …”

“there was a recall for my airbag in may of 2015, i purchased the vehicle in june of 2015. in october of 2015 i was involved in a serious MVA. my airbag did not deploy properly and the metal shards cut my face open. along with the faulty airbag my seatbelt did not lock up properly and i was almost ejected out of the vehicle. i started receiving mail and phone calls about fixing my faulty airbag in january of 2016. i had no idea there was even a recall for my vehicle until after my accident.”

He hit the steering wheel, causing him to nearly kill him. He received a head laceration on his scalp his skull and tissue were showing having to be reattach his scalp with over 80 staples. He now suffers with headaches and the doctors told him he has to be carefully within the next year for fear of reopening the scalp incisions. …”
