“When driving my 2005 Ford Taurus or parked wirh engine operating, it hesitates and accelerate on its own. I have taken it to a Ford dealership and after several hundred dollars for a fuel injection system cleaning, I was told they could not duplicate the problem. This issue has been going on for several years now.”

“I have a 05 Ford Taurus with the same exact symptoms as the previous year Taurus had wich lead to a recall. My cruise control cable will come off the throttle body holding the throttle open and revving at 4 grand when pit in neutral to resolve the issue. After a week of disputing with the car dealership, they finally fixed it at no charge.”

NHTSA complaint #10681962, filed 2015-02, 130,000 miles

“Earlier in the week, the accelerator pedal on my 2005 Ford Taurus got stuck and would not function. Hitting the brakes slowed the car. When car was put in neutral, the engine raced. I immediately took it to a repair shop and they could not replicate the problem. It worked fine for a few more days, but happened again yesterday.”

“I was on I 17 north to flagstaff az,when the speed control all the sudden began to climb 65, 70, 75 almost 80 MPH I tried braking. I had to take out of gear and coast to a er lane before I could shut off the car. Very scary luckily I was heading north not south heading south is mostly downhill I probably would be writing this. Please look into this problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10460504, filed 2012-06, 91,005 miles

“Sitting at a red light, waiting our turn, car accelerated thru the light! Had to put it in neutral to stop it. After that numerous times the car would accelerate while driving. Our mechanic has worked on this issue for over 9 months, keep thinking found it, drive a week or so, then it would do it again.”
